about a year ago, emily and i learned about the sale that is held in Battleground at the barn house and have wanted to go ever since. we knew there would be fabulous vendors there - Auntie Joy. Queen of Tarte. Molly Mo's. Sparrow. and so many more - and what a delight it was to learn about a month ago that we would both be free to make the drive last Saturday and visit this amazing sale.
so up at 3:30 i was and emily was here by 5 and off we went. we stopped in Salem for coffee and in portland for michelle and then we were on the road again. although we missed the exit to I84 and had to 'turn around' through downtown portland, we made it there only 10 minutes after it opened.
it was so funny - we all walked around and looked at our favorite things. and we were okay if we got separated somehow - which actually doesn't take much for me when you see friends you stop to talk to for 20 minutes.
and rather than try to explain the day in words, let me show you in pictures just a bit of what we saw.
beauty
treasures
yummy displays
and all that goes with a first class event
only 5 more miles. follow the signs.
birdhouses. my new favorite thing
yummy chippy wood
silver
molly mo's
(sadly, i think i took this photo and never made it in their booth)
great ways to display
fluffy pillows. sold before i got there.
vintage typewriter with greenery
lots of bottles in almost every booth
vintage ironstone
and typepad doesn't want me to post more photos, so I'll be right back
Oh my soul, what a wonderful day. So you mean to say you didn't mean to make all those u-turns?? Oh..I thought that was part of the tour!
I have just a few pictures...it felt like I took more. I did get a nice picture of the "barn house" sign vignette just as we were leaving. Remember the one where I had to ask that young man to remove his water bottle from the hay bale so I could take a picture? :-)
It was truly an amazing day...and such sweet, precious time spent with you and Emily.
Yes, definitely. Please put me down for next year.
