what an amazing event. i am so blessed to have been able to participate in this great show.
thursday night and friday morning, i was busy finishing up pricing and getting items ready to pack. the original plan was to take the truck and the van, but after i'd set everything aside that i wanted to take, i thought to myself that i could fit it all in the van. amazing, but it worked !
1 buffet, 1 dresser, 1 cabinet, 2 book shelves, 4 cubbies, 3 tables, 1 - 3 drawer night stand, the tent, one folding table, ephemera rack, 1 amazing paper cubby and all of the 'littles' to decorate with. the trick was to eliminate boxes and pack everything into the drawers and cubbies of the items i was taking. and it worked perfectly.
i wish i'd taken a picture of the packed van - it really was amazing if i do say so myself :) but instead, here are a few photos of my booth.
this buffet / dresser was the first thing to go. my hubby said i didn't price it high enough, but i was glad for what i got for it. (rumor has it, the person who bought it will be taking it to Farm Chicks next weekend - which is fine with me. it needed some work, and was missing a handle)
the bummer was that i had to find a place for everything else that was on top - right after we'd set up
this amazing cubby didn't sell - it will find it's way to the July show. and if it doesn't, it's okay with me. i love it ! i might have to redo my studio to find it a home.
flash cards were a hit at 2 / $1. and this cabinet is so heavy. it will either be in my booth at Hollywood or make it to July.
this cute little table sold at the end. it was in my booth space for a long time, but the original color. i painted it white/cream and almost didn't bring it because i loved the curves on it so much. see that cool tool box on the right ? it sold first thing too, and mark was amazed that someone would want it ! maybe he's catching on / understanding my obsession after all !
didn't sell any journals, but the magazine rack went. another item i grabbed at the last minute from my booth space !
lots of ephemera ! only sold one pack, so i'm going to have to add more to them and drop the price i think I didn't think $8 was too bad - there are great pieces in there. (i'd had them priced at $18 for Silver Bella, so it should have been a great deal !) this will for sure be at the June show in Eugene - more details below.
i took this picture with my feet reflecting in the mirror on purpose. at the VERY last minute i threw my rain boots into the van and i am so glad i did. the ground was soaking wet and very muddy. i had also purchased some sweet little flowers and put them all around. added a cute touch.
another fun area with some silver items and vintage sewing.
i had a lot of compliments on my cards with 'lily claire' on them. (thank you tracey !)
it really was a fun time and i'm glad i did it. mark was a champ too - even when we set up the tent in the pouring down rain. (oh - and the cute light brown gazebo tent at bi-mart isn't waterproof and it doesn't come with instructions - i am sooooo glad mark was there. another lesson - painters tarps from fred meyer for $3.21 each make great rain barriers when clipped to the sides of your gazebo !)
now to get ready for our June show here in Eugene. i'm already planning my booth space ! i'd headed out to the garage now.
check it out here - and we'd love to hear from you if you'd like to be a vendor.
many blessings - jill
